The ingredients you will need for the Rice with Djon Djon and Shrimp recipe
For the rice:
- Follow this recipe: Rice with Djon Djon recipe:
- Long Grain White Rice or yellow if preferred, good brand rice
- Djon-Djon dried mushrooms are sold in Haitian Grocery Stores.
- Water
- Baby Lima Beans or Greens Peas are frozen and then thawed.
- Olive Oil
- Fresh Garlic Cloves
- Fresh Thyme leaves
- Scallions stalks
- Green Pepper
- Crushed Black Pepper
- Whole Cloves
- Chicken Bouillon Powder
- Whole Hot Pepper or a few drops of NouBess Hot Sauce optional
- Additional salt and pepper to taste
For the Shrimp:
- 1 lb Shrimp, deveined and cleaned with lemon juice and water
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 large Shallot chopped finely
- 1/2 cup Sweet Red Pepper, chopped small
- Salt and Pepper to taste
